Science for Kids

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) is a super hot trend with kids' education, toys and even entertainment. Young children are usually very interested in different types of sciences as they discover how the world works.

We will focus on mostly the Natural Sciences. Observing and experimenting is what science is all about. It can also be a lot of fun!

Learn about it

Below is a brief introduction to some of the different types of Natural Sciences - both the Physical Science and Life Science categories. Don't worry, we're not going to be too technical but keep it simple for the kiddos.

Let's PLAY Science

Pretend play, toys, games and activities are just some of the ways kids learn. We'd like to showcase some of our favorite ways we play science and also good ideas we've come across. You probably have ideas too.

Resources

Eventually we hope to have a good directory of resources for other families to incorporate the love of science into their daily living. We've been blessed to live on a fascinating planet. It's so awesome to share in discovery.

Physics

The study of matter and its motion through space, along with related concepts such as energy and force. Spinning, throwing, falling...physics can be action packed!

Chemistry

So many fun experiments to do! Discover composition, behavior (or reaction) and properties of matter, as well as the changes it undergoes during chemical reactions.

Earth Science

An all-embracing term for the sciences related to the planet Earth. Think Earth Day. A great way to explain how to take care of our planet too.

Ecology

Study of the relationships that living organisms have with each other and with their abiotic environment. From ant farms to wild habitats, explore the eco systems.

Physical Science

Geology

Examine solid parts of the Earth, the rocks of which it is composed, and the processes by which they change. Grow crystals, learn about lava, get dirty!

Oceanography

Learn about marine life, ocean currents, waves, the geology of the sea floor. Beaches, bath tubs and aquariums are just some hands-ons examples that kids cannot get enough of.

Meteorology

One word: atmosphere. Learning about the weather, clouds, rainbows and anything happening in the sky is always a good topic for even the youngest of scientists.

Space Science

Space exploration captures the imagination of us all. From looking at the stars at night to learning what it takes to be an astronaut floating in a space station, explore the universe!

Life Science

Biology

The study of life and living organisms, including their structure, function, growth, origin, evolution, distribution, and taxonomy. SO. MUCH. TO. LEARN.

Botany

Plant science includes structure, growth, reproduction, metabolism, development, diseases, chemical properties, and evolutionary relationships among plant groups. Get growing.

Human Biology

An academic field of biology, biological anthropology, nutrition and medicine which focuses on humans. Learning about our anatomy and playing doctor are very popular activities kids love to do.

Zoology

The animal kingdom! Includes the structure, growth, evolution, classification, habits, and distribution of all animals, both living and extinct. What kid doesn't love animals?
